Northmead Public School continue to dominate the Primary Schools Cup, not only in numbers but in performance. They claimed five PBs in the Individual Time Trial, two in the top three Junior C Scratch race and 3rd in the Junior B/C Handicap.
William Clarke College has moved their way into first place in the Secondary Schools Cup, with Peter and Erica taking first and fourth in the Junior B Scratch and each claiming a PB in the ITT. Joel also helped by setting a benchmark time in his first ITT. -Lets see if he can set a new PB in Round 10. William Clarke College are working their way up the “All Schools Ladder” and are currently sitting just outside the top 5.
Conditions must have been good for the time trial with eleven riders claiming a personal best. Unfortunately there were no consecutive PBs set this week. It will be interesting to see how many can make it two in a row from such a large bunch. The record so far is four PBs in a row, held by Remi (Boronia Park Public) and Lana (Meriden).
I was excited to see so many finish together in the A/B Handicap, but it was all the A graders and some faster B graders coming through in the top ten. It seems I need to add another 10% to the scratch and chopping block riders. -Lets see how well they work together in Round 10.
A quick thank you goes out to Robyn Low-Hart. Robyn has been a positive force in promoting cycling to young riders. Their skills and abilities are a credit to her. Her dedication has resulted in over twenty kids from seven schools joining the Schools Cup. Two of which are looking likely to take out the Primary and Secondary Cups.
