Round 4 2016 Report

Round 4 attracted our 25th school into the competition when Caitlin signed-on for St Scholastica’s College. It was great to see another senior girl in the competition.

Concord West opened their gap on third placed Eastwood Heights, thanks to Alexandra, Julia and Liam who all achieved top five spots in the scratch race. Strong efforts from all three riders moved them a little closer to the primary school leaders, Russell Lea Infants.

St John Vianni moved up a spot into 4th place after strong performances from Lauren and Grace, followed closely by Narwee Public and St George Christian School each separated by around 30 points.

In the Secondary competition, Knox Grammar and Burwood Girls are trying to claw their way back to Rosebank College who still hold a substantial lead. Both Trinity Grammar and Lucas Heights Community School jumped up a position to 6th and 7th respectively.

Nine riders achieved a personal best time and earned ten extra points for their school in the process. The biggest margin going to Harper from Russell Lea, after taking 33 seconds off his time. Julia also earned ten points for Concord West when she improved her PB by a mere 298 milliseconds, so as not to make another PB in Round 5 too difficult. -Not that she knows what a millisecond is. If I try to explain it to her, it will end with an attempt to count to 1000 extremely fast!

Meriden and Boronia Park riders, Lana and Remi (pictured above), have achieved a PB in every round of the Individual Time Trial. Congratulations Lana and Remi and good luck in Round 5.
